When in Rome

Did you know that the earliest foundations of the (former) Roman Empire began in approximately 750 B.C? Have never had the pleasure to travel overseas except in books or on TV but I'd like to recommend The Romans (850 BC-337 AD) by Donald R. Dudley. It's a dense but fascinating read. The most difficult part is trying to visualize these ancient times without a comprehensive map for each chapter. Nevertheless, it's a fascinating read to get whatever you can from this magnificent tale. Huzzah for the John Henry Faulk Public Library! Also available on Amazon. ;)
