The Purpose of Blogs
Have made no secret of own disdain for blogs; however, there is at least one reason they are extremely important to society. See, everything we post online is there forever. If you have any doubt on this point, be skeptical, research Google, and please talk to your friendly neighborhood computer forensics expert.
If done well, all blogs will serve as time capsules to preserve history. Imagine how wonderful it would have been if we had our ancestors blogs, or Wild Bill Hickok's YouTube page, or Alexander the Great's Tweets or Cleopatra's Facebook page. The last 20 years have been the earliest history of the Internet and our place in it. This means that future generations will know everything about us should they care to look. We need each blog to be at least as well written as The Diary of Anne Frank. We have a civic duty to share so that others may learn and benefit from hopefully wise council.
So, be the chronicle. Tell the truth and your own story about life right now or where you think it may go. Our history could be important to those whom we may never meet.
