Happy Valentine's: You're Sweet Enough Already!
With special thanks to Dale Dudley (Dudley & Bob), whom I don't know personally, but am delighted to stumble across this link on his Facebook page:

From their YouTube site:
Robert H. Lustig, MD, UCSF Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology, explores the damage caused by sugary foods. He argues that fructose (too much) and fiber (not enough) appear to be cornerstones of the obesity epidemic through their effects on insulin. Series: UCSF Mini Medical
Before you think this guy is some "twinkle ding-dong" (thanks, Jeff), I assure you he is NOT. This information is sound scientific research and today we MUST stop eating these toxins today.
Yes, these substances are actually poisonous to our bodies and the video explains why in great depth including a discussion on the actual biochemical reactions when we eat these items:
Chocolate covered strawberries, anyone?
A coworker has given me her EASY recipe to make chocolate-covered strawberries without a double-boiler or crock pot (and, with special thanks to the girls' gymnastics team at her son's school).
All you need (is love):
You'll still have leftover chocolate for dipping other stuff! Have fun!

Yes, these substances are actually poisonous to our bodies and the video explains why in great depth including a discussion on the actual biochemical reactions when we eat these items:
- sugar
- fructose (includes high-fructose corn syrup) - it's cheaper than sugar and in almost everything including juice and sports drinks (hint: read the entire label before you eat it)
- beer (sorry)
Chocolate covered strawberries, anyone?
A coworker has given me her EASY recipe to make chocolate-covered strawberries without a double-boiler or crock pot (and, with special thanks to the girls' gymnastics team at her son's school).
All you need (is love):
- 2 dozen strawberries (remove from fridge until they get sweaty-->reach room temperature)
- 1 tablespoon Crisco (hey, it's Valentine's...)
- a microwave
- chocolate chips (preferably darkest chocolate without any high-fructose corn syrup)
You'll still have leftover chocolate for dipping other stuff! Have fun!
